Comm Usage

So I know that the community hasn't been updated as of late.  Here's why:

Basically, the response at first was pretty good, and folks seem to be using the comm to actually keep track of things.  But as the weeks dragged on, there were no other questions or additions or suggestions.  And for the longest time, it felt like I was the only one here.

If you feel like the community is worth it, please let me know - just a single, "Hey, keep it going" or something, and I'll get everything back on schedule.  But if the comm response is quiet, then I'll just close it.  No sense in updating something nobody is going to use.

So let me know!  And thanks!

I do this terrible thing where I subscribe to things and then forget they exist. And I tend to skim my reading list too quickly so even if there's a "hey, that thing is due!" notice, I don't always pay attention to it. So you can count me as one of the people who thought this was a great idea, but then... kind of ignored it and forgot to suggest any of my due dates not already included.

(I feel bad because I've been on the other end of things where I've talked about starting something and everyone said, "Great idea! Do it!" and I did the thing and then everyone ignored it. It's the whole herding-cats thing.)

Thank you, oldtoadwoman - I get it. I do the same things sometimes.

I'll start to get the ball rolling this week to get things back up to date. But I'm going to make a push to ask people to be more involved if they can.

I have art due in September if you want to add stuff to the list (venom fest thing that I had forgotten all about and not even started when this week's check-in reminded me).

I hadn't been writing much during lockdown, and so only paid attention to my own challenges. I was just going to rec this comm for someone at Snowflake only to find that it had lapsed due to not being used. I'm sad because it was a great idea. Perhaps you might gain some interest from the peeps at Snowflake (there are a lot who are new to DW) and have the urge/interest to restart it. Thank you for creating and maintaining this comm for as long as you did.

You know, at the beginning of this year, I had a, "I should resurrect this comm" moment. I think that was the right idea. I'll go through and see about starting it up again, and put some more feelers out for people to give me info on what's coming up. Thank you for the push! :)

In fact, I'll remind you that a new round of trope_bingo has started to get you going. (Since I just got my card.) *g*

And for my comms, Round 30 of smallfandomfest runs through Jan 31, and Round 11 of smallfandombang is open for artist sign-ups.
